Icelandair said it is offering visitors a Buddy Hotline that will connect them with airline employees with local knowledge who can help with the planning of a trip.

The Buddies will be available by phone or online chat to make restaurant recommendations as well as advise on what of the many tourist sites the country has the traveler would enjoy the most.

“All Buddies are members of the Icelandair team who are knowledgeable and passionate about promoting responsible tourism in the country,” the airline said in a statement.

The list of Buddies includes Guðlaug, who loves morning hikes and can recommend some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes to visit; Auður, who is an expert on Icelandic cuisine and local restaurants; and Sigríður, a flight attendant who is a fan of the country’s many geothermal pools.
