Hilton announced the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation of the Hilton Checkers Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The hotelier said that the changes pay homage to the history of the property.

As part of the project, a new dining venue, 1927 Bar+Kitchen, was added to the hotel. The hotel describes the bar “a modern-day speakeasy,” and it pays tribute to speakeasys from the 1920s.

Each of the hotel’s 193 guestrooms and suites features a brown and tan décor and is outfitted with a 42” LCD TV. The bathrooms were updated as well.

In addition, the hotel updated its 3,300 square feet (306 square meters) of meeting and event space, which now has new deep blue and gray color patterns.
