Delta Air Lines announced plans on Thursday to launch service to Gatwick Airport near London from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport.

The Gatwick service will be offered in conjunction with Delta’s joint-venture partner, Virgin Atlantic Airways and will start in the summer of 2020. Gatwick Airport was the destination of Delta’s very first transatlantic flight 40 years ago.

Business-class passengers will have use of Virgin Atlantic’s Clubhouse lounge in Gatwick’s North Terminal, among other amenities.

“These new services will offer even more ways for our customers on both sides of the Atlantic to experience the products and services that set Delta and its partners apart,” said Roberto Ioriatti, , the airline’s vice president for transatlantic routes.

Delta has not yet announced schedule information for the Gatwick routes nor which aircraft it will use.
