United Airlines Introduces New Portal for Meeting Planners

IMG_8489 2United Airlines announced the launch of its new portal for meeting planners, United Meetings.

United Meetings is available to organizations hosting conferences, events, and meetings of ten or more people. It makes it possible to offer discounts to those travelers and provides a dashboard that displays the number of flights booked and flown for each meeting. The system also keeps track of the rewards earned by the meeting planner, which United refers to as amenities funds. Amenities funds can be used for travel certificates, United Club passes, and beverage coupons.

The new portal was designed to make this aspect of meeting planning easier, said the airline’s senior vice president of sales, Jake Cefolia. United promises one-day turnaround for a group discount request made via the portal.

In addition to travel on United Airlines, the United Meetings portal will allow for travel discounts with United’s joint-venture and Star Alliance partners, a list that includes Air Canada, ANA, Lufthansa, and Swiss.
