JetBlue Reports Higher Traffic and Capacity for February 2019

IMG_8285JetBlue Airways announced operational results for February 2019. The carrier’s traffic and capacity were up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 3.91 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6% from 3.69 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity increased by 7.5% to 4.80 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.47 billion ASMs in February 2018.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 81.5%, down 1.1 percentage points from 82.6% last February.

The airline reported that its preliminary completion factor was 98.5% and its on-time performance was 70%. It also reaffirmed its guidance for first quarter revenue per available seat mile, or RASM. RASM is expected to be in the range of (3.5)% to (1.5)%.
