Hilton announced plans to recycle the bars of soap left behind by guests.

With a goal of October 15, which is Global Handwashing Day, five Hilton brands including Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Hampton by Hilton, and Home2 Suites will turn leftover bars of soap to Clean the World, an organization that recycles soap.

The move is part of Hilton’s Travel with purpose corporate responsibility initiative. The hotelier plans to cut its environmental footprint in half by 2030 and has committed to sending zero soap to landfills by then.

Clean the World diverts hotel waste to its six recycling centers where the used bars of soap are recycled into new ones.
