IMG_144-8Fraport AG, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, announced traffic figures for February 2019.

Passenger traffic was approximately 4.5 million passengers for the month, a 3.3% increase from February 2018.

Frankfurt Airport also reported a 3.4% year-over-year decrease in cargo tonnage for March, with 161,366 metric tons of cargo passing through the facility.

In addition, Fraport said the number of aircraft movements for the month increased by 4.7% year-over-year to 36,849 takeoffs and landings. Accumulated maximum takeoff weights, or MTOWs, rose by 4.6% to approximately 2.3 million metric tons.

The company attributed the decline in cargo tonnage to an “ongoing slowdown” in global trade.
