IMG_2019A British Airways flight on Monday from London’s City Airport to Düsseldorf landed in Edinburgh the Scottish capital, instead, much to its passengers’ bemusement.

The airline traced the error down to an incorrectly filed flight plan. The pilot and copilot both believed that Edinburgh was the actual destination.

BA issued a statement saying that it was working with WDL Aviation, which operated the flight on behalf of BA CityFlyer, “to establish why the incorrect flight plan was filed.”

The aircraft departed Edinburgh for Düsseldorf shortly after arrival.

“We have apologized to customers for this interruption to their journey and will be contacting them all individually,” the airline said.
