Norwegian Air announced plans to offer new non-stop seasonal service linking New York to Athens and Chicago to Barcelona.

The Barcelona service will commence on June 7, 2019, while service to Athens will begin on July 2. Both will operate until October 26, 2019.

Both flights will operate four times a week.

The move comes after news of the airline’s financial woes and the cancellation of multiple routes from the United States to Europe.

“Norwegian is fully committed to the United States,” said Matthew Wood, the airline’s senior vice president for long haul and new markets.

The airline also said it will increase the frequency of its Barcelona routes. Service from Newark Liberty International Airport to Barcelona-El Prat Airport will switch to daily service, while service from Los Angeles International Airport to Barcelona will operate five times a week.
