Hyatt Hotels announced on Monday the opening of the Andaz München Schwabinger Tor.

The new property, located in the Schwabing district of Munich, is the first Andaz hotel in Germany and the third in Europe.

The new hotel has 277 guest rooms that offer views of the city and the Bavarian Alps. The rooms feature a modern décor that the hotel said is a contemporary interpretation of Bavarian traditions. Sofas designed to evoke vintage car seats are situated along the windows, allowing guests to relax while taking in the views. Minibars offer local snacks and beverages.

Guests have several dining options in the hotel including the Lonely Broccoli, a Bavarian restaurant that focuses on grilled and slow-roasted meats, and has an open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant; Bicicletta, a coffee bar; Café M, which offers light bites; and M’Uniqo, a rooftop bar that serves botanical-infused cocktails and offers live music.

The Andaz Spa offers a variety of treatments, and the hotel has a fully equipped 24-hour gym as well as a 56’ (17 m) swimming pool.

Schwabing, once thought of as the city’s Bohemian quarter, is known for its restaurants, bars, and clubs, in particular along and adjacent to the Leopoldstraße, the grand boulevard which runs north from the quarter’s border with Maxvorstadt. Schwabing is also well known for its universities – including Ludwig-Maximilians Universität and the Technische Universität – and its parks, which include the Englisher Garten, or English Garden, one of the world’s largest public parks.
