Aeromexico Sees Decline in Traffic, Capacity

IMG_0285 (1)Aeromexico announced operational results for January 2019. The Mexico City-based carrier saw a decrease in traffic and capacity, while its load factor increased.

The airline’s total passenger traffic for the month was 3.60 billion revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs, a decline of 1.5% from 3.66 RPKs in the same month last year. On the domestic side of operations, the carrier reported a 5% decrease while the international side reported a 0.2% decrease.

The carrier reported a total capacity of 4.40 billion available seat kilometers, or ASKs, a 3.1% decrease from 4.54 billion ASKs in January of last year.

The airline’s total load factor for January was 81.8%, an increase of 1.3 percentage points, from 80.5% from the previous January.
