WestJet to Add 2 New Destinations, Portland and Austin
WestJet announced two new seasonal destinations in the United States from its Calgary, Alberta, hub. They are Austin, Texas, and Portland, Oregon.
The Canadian low-cost carrier will offer daily non-stop service to Portland starting April 29. It will inaugurate twice-weekly service to Austin on May 2.
The Calgary-Portland service will be operated by WestJet Encore using Bombardier Q400 aircraft, while the Calgary-Austin flights, which will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, will use Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
The airline’s summer schedule from Calgary also includes non-stop Dreamliner service to London Gatwick, Paris, and Dublin, as well as non-stop service to Atlanta, Georgia.
WestJet is also launching thrice-weekly service between Edmonton, Alberta, and St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Those flights will be operated using Boeing 737-700s as well.
