IHG’s Kimpton Hotels Plans 25 New Properties

InterContinental Hotels Group said that it plans to open more than 25 new Kimpton hotels over the next half decade.

The Kimpton Da An hotel will open in Taipei, Taiwan, in the spring of this year, as will the Kimpton Charlotte Square in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2020, the hotelier will open the Kimpton Kawana Bay resort in Grenada in the Caribbean, as well as the Kimpton Bali in Indonesia.

Other locations include  Barcelona, Mexico City, and Shanghai.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants was founded in 1981 by Bill Kimpton in San Francisco and was acquired by IHG for $430 million in cash in 2015. In addition to Kimpton-branded properties, Kimpton also operates two sub-brands, Hotel Palomar and Hotel Monaco.
