Hyatt Plans to Open 40 New Hotels on the West Coast

IMG_8441 2 (1)Hyatt Hotels said it plans to open 40 new hotels in California, Oregon, and Washington over the coming three years.

The new properties include the Park Hyatt Los Angeles at Oceanside Plaza,  which will open next year; the 600-key Hyatt Regency Portland at Oregon Convention Center, which will open in early 2020; and the 351-room Grand Hyatt at SFO, which will open this summer and will be the only hotel on airport property.

“The West Coast U.S. is a primary area of focus for Hyatt, and we see enormous potential to grow our portfolio of brands in this region,” said the hotelier’s global head of development, Jim Chu.

Other hotels include the Hyatt House San Jose/Cupertino, which will open in March; the Andaz Palm Springs, which opens this fall; and four Hyatt Centric properties in Mountain View, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Portland, which will open in the spring of 2019, fall of 2021, fall of 2020, and January 2020 respectively.
