IMG_1437A new winter storm is expected to impact travel across a wide swath of the country, bringing with it significant accumulations of snow, sleet, and freezing rain.

The storm is currently over much of California, where it has brought rain in the lower elevations and snow in more mountainous regions.  As the storm moves across the Southern Plains to the Ozark Plateau and Appalachians, conditions will become more severe.

The National Weather Service has already issued winter storm watches for parts of the Texas Panhandle to western and central Oklahoma.

Expect dangerous travel conditions in some areas as well as significant flight delays and cancellations as the storm moves east.
