Federal Air Marshals to Move to Coach
Federal air marshals will no longer sit in first class or business, thanks to a change in policy that goes info effect on December 28, 2018.
The Federal Air Marshal Service is making this change in order for the air marshals to be in a position to better monitor passenger behavior.
The change in policy was first reported by ABC News.
“In an effort to address evolving threats to aviation security…training and tactics are routinely reviewed and updated based upon intelligence,” the TSA said in a statement.
The union representing air marshals, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, said it was opposed to the change.
The Federal Air Marshal Service is a federal law enforcement agency under the supervision of the Transportation Security Administration which itself is under the Department of Homeland Security.
