IMG_9290 (1)Delta Air Lines announced a new boarding process that will be driven by the type of fare purchased.

The airline will tie each fare type to a specific color. Boarding will be in order of fare class, starting with Delta One, Delta Premium Select and First Class, Delta Comfort+, Main Cabin, and Basic Economy.

The colors will be complementary to Delta’s primary color palette and the Passport Plum shade of purple, now featured on the airline’s uniforms.  The new process will go into effect on January 23, 2019 and boarding groups will be renamed to reflect the fare type.

Delta SkyMiles Medallion members will board with the first boarding group, regardless of fare type. Platinum and Gold Medallion members will board with the Sky Priority group, and Silver Medallion members will board with the new Main Cabin 1 group.
