A good part of the Eastern Seaboard is expected to feel the effects of a cross-country storm that started its eastward march in California earlier in the week.

Flash flood watches are in effect from Washington, D.C. all the way down to Florida – a swatch of the country covering 28 million people – and there is a risk of severe weather from southeastern Georgia into Central Florida, with heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Expect significant flight delays in the region at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International, Memphis International, and Raleigh-Durham International airports through Sunday.

Road conditions are expected to be poor due to the storm, so please drive with caution if traveling in the area.
