Winter Storm with Heavy Snow and High Winds Threatens Holiday Travelers
A major early winter storm is moving across the country Saturday night and possibly making it harder to return over the river and through the woods from grandmother’s house as the Thanksgiving holiday weekend draws to a close.
The storm is expected to bring heavy snow and strong winds to the Rockies, the Central Plains, and the Great Lakes.
The National Weather Service said that the storm could produce blizzard-like conditions in many areas.
“Dangerous travel conditions caused by heavy snow and reduced visibility are expected to end the holiday weekend,” the agency said in a statement.
Expect significant numbers of flight cancellations and delays starting Sunday afternoon, as flight disruptions ripple from Chicago O’Hare International Airport throughout the country.
