DSC_0505The Association of Flight Attendants announced that flight attendants at Air Wisconsin, a regional carrier for United Airlines, have voted to authorize a strike.

The vote was 99% in favor of the action.

“Air Wisconsin Flight Attendants are ready to do whatever it takes to get a new contract,” said Ernie Lazernick, president of the Air Wisconsin union.

Negotiations for a new contract began in 2016 and are currently being overseen by the National Mediation Board.

The union believes that the NMB could declare negotiations to be deadlocked because there has been no progress and no future negotiations are currently scheduled. Such a move would start the clock on a 30-day cooling off period that could lead to a strike deadline.
