JetBlue Reports Higher Traffic and Capacity Figures for October

IMG_8305JetBlue Airways announced operational results for October 2018. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.06 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 9.5% from 3.7 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity also increased by 8.9% to 4.9 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.5 billion ASMs in October 2017.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 82.9%, up 0.5 percentage points from 82.4% last October.

The airline said its preliminary completion factor was 99.4% and its on-time performance was 78.8%. It also reaffirmed its guidance for fourth quarter revenue per available seat mile, or RASM. RASM is expected to be in the range of 1% to 4%.
