DSC_0761 (1)American Airlines announced Thursday that it plans to offer passengers Flagship First and Business service on certain flights between Boston and Los Angeles.

The airline will operate flights with its Airbus A321T sub-fleet twice a day. Other flights between the two locations will be conducted using standard domestic aircraft.

The first-class cabin on the A321T has ten fully lie-flat seats in a 1-1 configuration with an extra-wide aisle. The suite-like seats afford substantial privacy for each passenger. Each first-class seat is 21” wide (not including the armrests, which can be lowered, making it 27” wide) and the fully-extended bed measures 82.5”.

The business-class cabin offers 20 seats in a 2-2 configuration. Each seat is pitched at 58” and is 18.5”-19.5” wide, depending on seat location. The bed is a true 180° lie-flat bed that extends to 78” (some seats are 75”) and all seats are oriented towards the window. A very small ottoman becomes part of the bed.

Flagship First passengers will have access to the Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining as well as Flagship Check-in, while Flagship Business passengers will have access to the Flagship Lounge.
