American Airlines to Introduce New Meal Options in First on Domestic Flights

American Airlines will offer new dining options in first class on board domestic flights starting Wednesday.

The new menus, designed by chef Julian Barsotti, will include a variety of dishes with separate lunch and dinner menus.

The lunchtime options will include a Chinese chicken salad, American chopped salad, and TexMex salad, all accompanied by grilled chicken, as well as dishes such as spinach ricotta raviolini, cheese enchiladas, and a new cheeseburger.

Appetizers for the midday meal will include blackened shrimp accompanied by pineapple salsa, pesto vegetables with feta cheese, cold smoked salmon with cucumber, and broccoli salad.

Dinner entrées will include a short rib dish with hatch chili mac and cheese, grilled chicken with shiitake mushroom sauce and a twice-baked potato, a falafel plate with orzo and quinoa, and three-bean chili with a polenta cake.

Appetizers in the evening will include old bay shrimp with horseradish slaw, curried chicken with endive, burrata with spicy olives, a Mexican street corn salad, and a burrata with pepperonata and mache.

In addition, on December 1, American will begin to offer meals from Zoë’s Kitchen in coach.  This will include some items from the restaurant’s menu as well as some that are being created specifically for American.
