DSC_0314 (1)Ahead of Information Overload Day, Wyndham is fighting the scourge of Information Overload when on holiday with the introduction of phone-free VIP areas at pools and restaurants at Wyndham Grand properties.

The program, in conjunction with Yondr, a company that makes locking phone cases for this purpose, will receive exclusive pool floats and what the hotelier calls “off menu treats” along with a copy of a book, The Nocturnals: The Mysterious Abductions. Those who participate will be entered for a chance to win 75,000 Wyndham Reward points.

To participate, a guest must simply check in with a staff member at the hotel’s pool or restaurant to receive a Yondr case. Once in the case, the phone will remain with the guest but will be inaccessible. When leaving the phone-free zone, the guest will proceed to an unlocking station and be able to access his device again.

The phone-free program will be in place through November 12, 2018 at five properties, namely the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront; the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach Resort; Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort; Hotel Galvez & Spa, a Wyndham Grand Hotel in Galveston; and The Mills House, a Wyndham Grand Hotel in Charleston.

Information Overload Day this year falls on October 23.
