JetBlue September Traffic and Capacity Soar

IMGP4661 (1)JetBlue Airways announced operational results for September 2018. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 3.89 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 18.5% from 3.28 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity also increased by 19.3% to 4.88 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.09 billion ASMs in September 2017.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 79.7%, down 0.5 percentage points from 80.2% last September.

The airline said its preliminary completion factor was 98.9% and its on-time performance was 77.5%. It revised its guidance for Q3 revenue per available seat mile, or RASM. RASM is expected to be 1.7%, consistent with earlier guidance in the range of 1% and 3%.
