Lobby Bar – At 60 mph, the Loudest Noise Comes from the Electric Clock

All tied up and no place to go. Jonathan Spira attended a performance of the rather risqué and lascivious off-Broadway show “Kink Haüs,” an exuberant look at queer nightlife in Berlin. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been heard from since although several readers reported seeing him dancing to the song, “Nein Mann (ich will noch nicht gehen, ich will noch’n bisschen tanzen).”

Relax, don’t do it. American Airlines is offering passengers a nature channel and meditation app to lower anxiety levels when flying.  If no one subscribes to the channel during the flight, the pilot simply flies a few loop-de-loops as the airline has found that this greatly boosts signups.

Bueller!  The grandson of Toyota’s founder said he doesn’t want the automaker to build any more boring cars.  As a result, any employees seen yawning whilst driving the new 2018 Lexus LS 500h will be made to drive a Zastava Yugo for one month.

Doc Brown’s Cream Soda. Paul Riegler reviews the new Google Maps app that works in Apple CarPlay but accidentally used the version installed in Jesse’s time machine, which propelled him into the future in a modified DeLorean. A glitch in the time-space continuum places him in Detroit on November 5, 1955 where he becomes a car designer. In an unrelated matter, the 1956 Ford Fairlane ended up bearing a suspicious resemblance to the 2018 Toyota Prius.

The Lobby Bar Espresso.  If this edition of Lobby Bar seems a bit more energized than usual, it’s because Saturday is National Coffee Day and we were getting prepared.  To celebrate, we started the day on Central European Time, drinking cup after cup of Austrian-style mélange as we wrote this.
