JetBlue Traffic, Capacity, and Load Factor Up for August

DSC_0453JetBlue Airways announced operational results for August 2018. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.72 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.7% from 4.42 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity also increased by 4.8% to 5.32 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 5.08 billion ASMs in August 2017.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 88.7%, up 1.6 percentage points from 87.1% last August.

The airline said its preliminary completion factor was 97.4% and its on-time performance was 66.7%. It also said it expects Q3 revenue per available seat mile, or RASM, to range between 1% and 3%.
