DSC_0447American Airlines announced it will soon offer new menu selections for purchase in coach.

The new menu items will come from Zoës Kitchen, a Plano-based, Mediterranean-themed chain, and will debut on December 1. The airline and Zoës Kitchen said the new items will include some from the restaurant’s menu as well as some that are being created specifically for American.

Calling it an “innovative, fresh approach to onboard offerings,” the two also said that they will continue to roll out new options for coach passengers as well as introduce new menu items for domestic first class passengers.

The new breakfast menu will include a turkey, bacon, egg, and tomato sandwich with baby arugula on a waffle brioche bun accompanied by Calabrian pepper aioli and a Belgian waffle accompanied by hazelnut spread and fresh berries.

Lunch and dinner menus will include a Grüben, Zoës’ signature turkey sandwich with Manchego cheese Mediterranean slaw, and feta cheese spread on marble wheat bread accompanied by a chocolate chip cookie and a grilled chicken wrap with mozzarella cheese, roasted tomatoes, arugula, and artichokes. Both are accompanied by a Zoës chocolate chip cookie. The menu also includes a hummus duo with classic hummus topped with Kalamata olives and basil-pesto hummus, accompanied by pita bread, cucumbers, and carrots.

The Fort Worth-based airline said it will also continue to offer its signature fruit and cheese plate as well as its traditional breakfast platter for the time being.
