Alaska Air Creates Planning and Strategy Division, Names Tackett as EVP

IMG_8937 (2)Alaska Airlines announced the appointment of Shane Tackett to the position of executive vice president of planning and strategy, a new position.

Mr. Tackett will lead a new division in refining and optimizing the airline’s route network following the carrier’s 2016 acquisition of Virgin America. He previously served as the airline’s senior vice president of revenue and e-commerce.

The Seattle-based airline also announced that it will integrate its commercial and frontline divisions. Ben Miniicucci, the airline’s president, will head the newly integrated division.

“Ben and Shane are proven leaders who will do a terrific job with these new responsibilities,” said Brad Tilden, the airline’s CEO.
