WestJet Appoints Former JetBlue EVP as New COO

DSC_0915 (1)WestJet announced the appointment of Jeffrey Martin to the position of chief operating officer.

Captain Martin most recently served as executive vice president of operations at JetBlue Airways. His appointment is subject to approval by Canadian immigration officials.

“As WestJet continues to transform into a global airline, Jeff’s extensive international experience will help ensure our continued success,” said WestJet CEO Ed Sims.

Prior to JetBlue, Captain Martin was a pilot and later an executive at Southwest Airlines. He continues to maintain his pilot’s license and is a civilian flight instructor. He is certified on McDonnell Douglas DC-10, Boeing 737, and Airbus A320 aircraft.
