JetBlue Reports Increase in Load Factor for July, As Traffic Growth Outpaces Capacity

DSC_5013JetBlue Airways announced operational results for July 2018. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.76 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.2% from 4.48 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity also increased by 4.1% to 5.35 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 5.14 billion ASMs in July 2017.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 88.9%, up 1.8 percentage points from 87.1% last July.

The airline said its preliminary completion factor was 97.6% and its on-time performance was 67.2%. It also said it expects Q3 revenue per available seat mile, or RASM, to range between 0% and 3%.
