Delta Reports Increase in Traffic and Capacity for July

DSC_0498Delta Air Lines announced operational results for July 2018.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 22.6 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a 4% increase from 21.3 billion RPMs in July 2017. Domestic traffic rose 6.2%, while international traffic fell by 1.8%.

Total system-wide capacity for the month rose to 25.51 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 24.66 billion ASMs, a 3.5% increase. The airline’s domestic capacity increased by 5.5% in the period, while international capacity fell by 2.4%.

Load factor for the month was 88.6%, up 0.1 percentage points from July 2017.

Delta’s domestic load factor increased by 0.6 percentage points while its international load factor rose by 0.4 percentage points year-over-year.
