DSC_0022 (2)BMW announced that it will add a new tier to its Access by BMW new-car subscription service.

The new tier, Icon, includes the BMW 330i, the BMW 330e plug-in hybrid, the BMW i3 electric vehicle, the BMW X2, and the BMW M240i cabrio. The cost per month is $1,099.

Access by BMW is currently in a pilot phase in Nashville, Tennessee.

Members simply request a specific vehicle via a mobile app that is available for both iOS and Android devices. Vehicles are delivered by a BMW concierge, detailed and with a full tank of fuel. The driver’s individual preferences will be preset and members can switch cars as often as they wish during the subscription period.

The service includes insurance, vehicle maintenance, registration, and vehicle deliveries.

BMW will continue with its Legend and BMW M tiers although it is lowering the price per month for both. The BMW M tier, previously $3,700, will now cost $2,699. The BMW Legend tier, which includes the 4 Series, the 5 Series, the X5, and the M2, goes from $2,000 per month to $1,399.

The program is being made available by BMW’s financing arm, BMW Financial Services. Vehicles will be delivered and maintained by local dealers.
