IMG_0360Air Canada announced the appointment of Ferio Pugliese to the position of senior vice president for government relations and regional markets.

Mr. Pugliese has held senior positions at WestJet, WestJet Encore, and HydroOne. He replaces Kevin Howlett, who will retire from the airline in November after 45 years of service.

“As a global carrier connecting 64 Canadian cities and communities to more than 220 worldwide markets on six continents, one of Air Canada’s key priorities is continuing to outreach and strengthen the partnerships we have in the cities and communities we fly to,” said Calin Rovinscu, the airline’s CEO.

Earlier in the week, Air Canada announced it would acquire its Aeroplan frequent flyer program, which it spun off 13 years ago, from Aimia for 450 million Canadian dollars.
