United Airlines announced plans to offer non-stop service between Monterey Regional Airport in California and Denver International Airport in Colorado.

The twice daily service will begin on October 4, 2018, and will connect the Monterey and Central California Coast area with United’s Denver hub, offering almost 100 connecting flights to destinations in the United States.

United already offers non-stop service to Monterey from Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Monterey, known as an artists’ community, offers multiple attractions including the annual Monterey Jazz Festival, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Fisherman’s Wharf. It was long known for its fishery in Monterey Bay, although that ended in the 1950s due to overfishing.
