Alaska Air Group announced operational results for June 2018. The carrier saw a rise in traffic and capacity, as well as in its load factor for the month.

System-wide traffic for Alaska Air Group, expressed in revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, increased by 7.3% year-over-year, up to 5.05 billion RPMs compared to 4.70 billion in June of 2017.

Capacity was 5.72 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.1% from 5.39 billion ASMs.

System-wide load factor for the month was 88.3% a 1.0 percentage point decline from 87.3% in June 2017.

The figures include flights operated by Alaska Airlines and Virgin America, which the carrier acquired in December 2016, as well as Horizon Air and those operated under third-party capacity purchase agreements.

In addition, on April 25, Alaska Airlines merged all Virgin America customer-facing operations such as selecting flights and checking in, with its own. Customers now use Alaska’s website, mobile app, and airport kiosks exclusively when traveling.
