DSC_0262 2Hilton announced Monday the reflagging of three properties in Dubai that were formerly affiliated with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, a unit of Marriott International. The announcement was made jointly with the hotels’ owner, the Al Habtoor Group.

The St. Regis Al Habtoor City will become the Habtoor Palace, LXR Hotels & Resorts; the Westin Al Habtoor City will become the Hilton Al Habtoor City; and the W Hotel Al Habtoor City will move back one letter of the alphabet and become the V Hotel as part of Hilton’s Curio Collection.

The changes go into effect on August 1.

The Habtoor Palace offers 234 rooms and is located adjacent to the Dubai Water Canal. The Hilton has 1,004 guest rooms including 142 suites and will be Hilton’s largest hotel under that brand in its Middle East and Africa region.  Finally, the V Hotel has 356 guest rooms and hosts the Las Vegas-style “La Perle by Dragone” aquatic show.
