IMGP5613 (1)JetBlue Airways announced operational results for May 2018. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.34 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 8.9% from 3.98 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity also increased by 7.6% to 5.06 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.70 billion ASMs in May 2017.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 85.8%, up 1.1 percentage points from 84.7% last May.

The airline said it expects Q2 revenue per available seat mile, or RASM, to decline between 2.5% and 0.5% compared to Q2 2017, citing holiday timing, a lower completion factor, and co-brand incentive payments as the reason for the decline.
