The 2018 Tony Award nominations were announced Tuesday by Leslie Odom Jr. and Katharine McPhee. A total of 30 Broadway shows were eligible this year, the smallest number in close to a decade.

Two new musicals, “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Mean Girls,” led the nominations with 12 each including Best Musical. Also nominated for Best Musical were “The Band’s Visit” with 11 nominations and “Frozen” with three.

Broadway revivals “Angels in America” and “Carousel” each earned 11 nominations as well, and “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and “My Fair Lady” earned ten.

Performers nominated for a Tony include Michael Cera, Tina Fey, Renée Fleming, Andrew Garfield, Grey Henson, Gavin Lee, Taylor Louderman, Diana Rigg, Tony Shalhoub, Amy Schumer, and Ethan Slater.

Tony Awards administrators also said they would give rock idol Bruce Springsteen an honorary Tony for his show “Springsteen on Broadway,” which opened last October.

Winners will be announced at Radio City Music Hall June 10 at the awards ceremony hosted by the Broadway League and the American Theater Wing. Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles will host the event.
