Southwest Airlines Sees Traffic Drop for April

DSC_0016Southwest Airlines announced operational results for April 2018.

The airline’s total system traffic was 11.2 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, a year-over-year decrease of 0.2% from 11.23 billion RPMs in April 2017.

The carrier reported a total system capacity of 13.57 billion ASMs, or available seat miles, up 1.5% from 13.37 billion the previous April.

Meanwhile, Southwest’s load factor for the month dropped 1.5 percentage points to 82.5% from 84% for the same period in 2017.
