DSC_0453JetBlue Airways announced the appointment of Joanna Geraghty to the positions of president and chief operating officer.

The airline said that Geraghty will report to Robin Hayes, who will remain as chief executive officer and who will continue to oversee the company’s long-term strategy.

Explaining the restructuring, Hayes said that it will “allow focus on the core airline business while providing an organizational structure to innovate and grow in the travel and vacations space.”

Geraghty joined JetBlue in 2005, most recently serving as its executive vice president for customer experience. Previous to that, she served as chief people officer from 2010-2014 and as associate general counsel and director of litigation and regulatory affairs prior to that.

Prior to joining the airline, Geraghty was a partner at a New York law firm.
