InterContinental Hotels Group announced the opening of the InterContinental Sofia hotel in Bulgaria. The property is the first IHG hotel to open in the country, and the seventh in Eastern Europe.

The hotel offers 194 guestrooms, including 37 suites and 27 Club rooms. The room designs draw inspiration from the architectural influences of the city in the 1960s.

Each room provides a flat screen TV, a couch, and desk. Guests staying in Club rooms have access to the InterContinental Lounge, which offers complimentary breakfast, as well as evening refreshments.

A 24-hour business center is located on the premises, as is a 24-hour fitness center. The property has meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 240 guests.
