Tryp by Wyndham Hotel to Open in Newark
Wyndham Hotel Group announced the opening of the Tryp by Wyndham Newark Downtown.
The new property is located alongside Newark Bay and is close to museums and the Branch Brook Park, known for its collection of over 5,000 cherry trees and its Cherry Blossom Festival in April. It is also close to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, home of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
The 101-room hotel is housed in a building that dates from the 1920s and many of the building’s original elements, including a mosaic tile floor, have been preserved. The hotel features a collection of historic artifacts, city scenes, and murals of well-known Newark natives including Frankie Valli and Queen Latifah in its public areas.
The Tryp by Wyndham Newark Downtown features a variety of unusual room types including a family room with one king size bed and two bunk beds and a Fitness Room with a stationary bicycle in addition to the normal amenities.
This is Wyndham’s sixth Tryp hotel in the United States. The first was the Tryp New York City Times Square South, which opened in 2012.
