Hilton announced the opening of the Niepce Paris Hotel, located in the Montparnasse district of the city.

The hotel is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.

The Niepce Paris Hotel takes its inspiration from the work and career of photographer Janine Niépce, who was one of the first female photojournalists in France.

Niépce, who died in 2007, was also a distant relative of Nicéphore Niépce, who is credited as one of the inventors of photography. Her photographs are on display in guest rooms and public spaces in the hotel.

The new hotel offers 52 rooms and suites with a cream and tan décor.  The property itself occupies a row of 19th-century townhouses and is in walking distance to the Gare Montparnasse train station.

Restaurant options include La Verriere Paris, which offers French and international cuisine, and Café’n’Bar offers lighter fare along with cocktails and wine.

The hotel also has a small meeting room and gym.
