IMG_0360Air Canada expanded the range of fare types it offers late Wednesday, adding a new Comfort fare type which includes access to Priority Seats and other amenities.

The fares are available across all Air Canada flights, including Air Canada Rouge, within North America.  The three highest-level fares – Latitude, Comfort, and Flex – include the option to purchase Maple Leaf Lounge access for an additional fee and also provide advance seat selection as well as complimentary checked baggage.

“Air Canada recognizes that people have different requirements when they travel, so we are expanding the range of choice for our Economy customers,” said Lucie Guillemette, the airline’s chief commercial officer.

In February, the airline introduced a new Economy Basic fare that provides complimentary carry-on baggage as well as standard offerings that include in-flight entertainment and power outlets. However, it is not refundable after 24 hours and cannot be otherwise cancelled or changed.

Air Canada continues to offer a Standard fare, which allows tickets to be changed albeit for a fee, advance seat selection, and 50% Aeroplan Miles accrual for transborder flights and 25% Aeroplan Miles accrual for domestic flights.
