Air Canada introduced on Tuesday its “curbside-to-curbside” Signature Service as a companion to its premium Signature Class business-class service alongside the addition of aircraft with lie-flat seats in business on select transcon flights within North America.

Air Canada Signature Service starts when a passenger arrives at the airport. It includes airport concierge services, priority check-in and security clearance, expedited checked baggage return at the destination, access to the Maple Leaf Lounge, and early boarding.  Customers departing Toronto-Pearson International Airport will have access to the new Air Canada Signature Suite lounge, which features pre-flight dining.

The Montreal-based carrier will offer flights with lie-flat seats between Toronto and West Coast destinations Vancouver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco on Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft beginning June 1.  The lie-flat beds will be outfitted with mattress pads in addition to pillows and blankets.

“We know our premium customers travelling on longer flight itineraries place a high value on convenience and comfort when in airports or onboard an aircraft,” said Benjamin Smith, the airline’s president.

The airline is also updating its Signature Class offering with serviceware including new dishes and glasses as well as new menu items by chef David Hawksworth and, for flights to Mumbai and New Delhi, a South Asian menu by chef Vikram Vij. It is also adding new wine selections chosen by its sommelier, Véronique Rivest as well as a new Air Canada Signature cocktail.

Transcon flights will see the addition of new wine and alcoholic beverages as well as espresso and cappuccino, and international flights will feature Laurent-Perrier Champagne.
