Air Canada Reports Record First Quarter Revenue

IMG_0592 2Air Canada announced financial results for the first quarter of 2018.

The Montreal-based airline reported record first quarter revenue of 4.07 billion Canadian dollars, a 12% increase over 3.62 billion in Q1 2017. It also reported a loss of 184 million Canadian dollars, which included foreign exchange losses of 112 million Canadian dollars.

Passenger revenue per available seat mile, or Prasm, rose 3%.

Passenger traffic in Q1 showed an 11.4% increase and capacity was up by 8.6%. The airline’s load factor, which represents the portion of seats filled, increased by 2.1 percentage points to 88.2% from 80.1%.
