IMG_5037 (1)Norwegian Air International plans to operate flights between Europe and Canada starting this summer.

The Norway-based carrier applied to the Canadian Transportation Agency for an exemption “to permit it to sell scheduled international service between member states of the European Community and Canada, in the absence of a licence.”

The airline has already applied for a Canadian aviation document from Transport Canada and plans to start up operations on July 23, 2018. It has not yet announced any planned routes, however.

Norwegian Air International is Norwegian’s Irish subsidiary and has been the source of much controversy in the United States.

The parent company currently operates non-stop flights to multiple European cities to 12 U.S. airports.
