Lola Travel introduced Lola Works, a travel management portal that works in concert with the company’s app.

Lola Works allows companies to set up travel policies and hotel and airline guidelines and gives managers the ability to monitor travel and travel costs.

The portal allows managers to see where employees and colleagues are in real time. The portal also surfaces travel spend in real time.

“Small companies don’t like big-company software,” Paul English, the company’s CEO, told Frequent Business Traveler in an interview. “Big company software is ugly and onerous. Small companies like consumer software.”

The Lola app uses artificial intelligence to give each user what the company calls a “personal travel algorithm” that guides which travel options are then presented. It also includes complimentary access to U.S.-based travel agents who can provide assistance in trip planning and in the event of irregular operations.

The company was founded by English, who started Kayak, a fare aggregator and travel metasearch engine in 2004. That company was sold to the Priceline Group in 2013.
