JetBlue Reports Increase in Traffic and Capacity for February

DSC_5013JetBlue Airways announced operational results for February 2018. The carrier said that its total traffic and capacity were up, while its load factor remained unchanged.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 3.69 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.8% from 3.46 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity also increased by 6.8% to 4.7 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.18 billion ASMs in February 2017.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 82.6%, unchanged from February of last year.

The airline said its preliminary completion factor was 98.4% and its on-time performance was 74.6% for the period. It also said that it expects first quarter RASM or revenue per available seat mile  to grow in the range of 3.5% to 5.5% compared to the first quarter of 2017.
